All About Me!

Hi! My name is Madeline Storz, though most people call me Maddy. I'm a junior at Indiana University studying Secondary Education. I come from Jeffersonville, Indiana, which is right across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. My favorite things include summer camp, traveling, dogs, baking, and reading- just to name a few.

Unlike most of my peers, I didn't grow up knowing I wanted to be a teacher. In fact, a career education was something I actively avoided. For my first year of college, I was a Neuroscience major who intended to one day attend medical school. On a whim in the spring of my freshman year, I applied to work at CYO Camp Rancho Framasa in Nashville, IN, a summer camp I had gone to as a child. That summer absolutely changed my life and opened my eyes to my gift for working with children. I came back to school in the fall of 2016 and changed my major to education and the rest is history! I've never looked back on that decision because each experience I am blessed with continues to affirm that I'm on the right path.

I am so passionate about science, especially chemistry and I look forward instilling that love in my future students. My career inspiration is Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus, who shows her students every day how important and exciting science is. I hope that my passion for my career in education shines through in the pages of this ePortfolio. Thank for for taking the time to get to know me, and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!
